The company is today led by Mustafa Özbay, grandson and namesake of the family’s first master gunsmith, also called Mustafa Özbay, who is regarded as the pioneer gunsmith of Üzümlü.

From a Mountain Village to a Center of Firearm Craft

Üzümlü — surrounded by mountains, valleys and rich natural landscapes — has long been a cradle of firearms craftsmanship in the region. Our story begins with the elder Mustafa Özbay, who trained intensively in Beyşehir under a master gunsmith who had learned his trade during World War I. In just two months of dedicated practice he mastered essential techniques and returned to Üzümlü to open the town’s first gunsmith workshop.

Handmade Quality, Patient Craftsmanship

The early years were defined by hands‑on learning and resourceful problem solving. The first shotgun produced was a handmade single‑break — the first in Üzümlü — built from raw materials and crafted part‑by‑part. A single shotgun took roughly ten days to complete (two days for the barrel, one day for the stock), and the workshop grew quickly as locals sought to learn the craft. From those humble beginnings, the business expanded steadily, fueled by passion for making guns rather than by commercial gain.
