Foss Søndre Gård

Foss Søndre Gård is a family-run farm with deep roots in traditional agriculture — and a strong commitment to the future of sustainable food production. After producing grain for many years, the farm transitioned to organic farming in 2017, focusing on ancient grain varieties and regenerative soil health. By stepping away from industrial methods, we ensure that no artificial fertilizers, pesticides, or chemicals are used — only natural processes that restore the vitality of the soil.
In 2021, we expanded our work to include organic free-range pigs, emphasizing animal welfare and natural behavior. Our herd includes purebred Noble pigs and Mangalitca (Wool pigs), with piglets born and raised outdoors. They roam freely with their mothers in large, fenced areas until they naturally wean. Each spring, new pastures are prepared to give the pigs fresh access to grass, roots, and insects. This rotational grazing system improves soil quality, provides natural weed control, and enhances the health of both animals and land.
In 2022, we began small-scale organic quail egg production, offering eggs known for their rich nutritional value and superior taste. These eggs are sold both privately and to local restaurants that value fresh, sustainable ingredients.
All our operations are Debio-certified, ensuring the highest standards of organic integrity and sustainability. At Foss Søndre Gård, we believe that caring for the land and animals creates better food — and a better future — for everyone.
